This was one of the earliest outfits I made, in the autumn of 1999. The cape is made of black velvet with a purple lining with a rather narrow fit. The waspy is of black brocade with rigeline boning, lacing up the back. As this was the first time I wore it, it was still quite stiff and didn't close completely. I still wear the waspie, and it has now completely shaped itself after my body. The top hat is of the type that collapses, a chapeau claque. I also have one of the original ones, covered in beaver fur, a castor hat.
